الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aimed at investigating the image of man and woman in the secondary EFL stage textbooks in Jordan.The sample of the study consisted of all first secondary and second secondary English language students' book and work book .

The researcher used the content analysis method .

The researcher designed an instrument consisted of (88) images of man and woman that were distributed into eight image domains; family ,educational ,social ,entertainment ,literary , political, religious and vocational.

The results of the study revealed that: the highest frequency of man image domain was (student) on the educational image domain.

It also showed that the highest frequency of woman image was (mother) in the family image domain.

It also showed that the highest frequency of both man and woman image was (student)on the educational image domain .

In light of the results of the study, the researcher recommended increasing the role of both man and woman in religious , political and social image domains in the EFL textbooks and Paying much attention to the images of women by authors in all domains
