Sometimes the Islamic bank receives requests from some of its customers to include in Murabahah financing some components other than the cost of the goods, such as shipping charges, import duty, inspection charges, etc. Sometimes these claims are mentioned in the commercial invoice for the goods, and sometimes it is in a separate bill but with reference to the same transaction. Shariah guidance is required in this regard, if such amounts may be financed under the Murabahah structure.
