الملخص الإنجليزي

The charge transfers complexation between [60]Fullerene and dibenzothiacrown ethers 1-3 and dibenzoazathiacrown ethers 4-6 were studied in toluene using UV/Vis spectrophotometry at five different temperatures.

The formation constants Kc were determined by applying the Benesi-Hildebrand equation. Complexes were found to have 1:1 stoichiometry as obtained by Job plots method and confirmed by mole ratio method.

The cavity size of crown moiety, the type, number and orientation of donor atoms effect on Kc values.

Also, the thermodynamic parameters: ΔHo, ΔSo and ΔGo were obtained for all complexes.

The complex formations for all systems are enthalpy favored, while the entropy is disfavored for compounds 1, 4 and 6 since their ΔSo values are negative.

Enthalpy-Entropy compensation effect was also observed.-
