Frequency synthesizer is a key building block of fully integrated wireless communications systems.

Design of a frequency synthesizer requires the understanding of not only the circuit-level, but also of the transceiver system-level considerations.

The frequency synthesizer design challenge involves strong trade-offs, and often conflicting requirement.

The general implementation issues and recent development of frequency synthesizer design are discussed.

Simplified design approach should provide us with sufficient intuition for fast design and troubleshooting capability.

Open problems in this frequency synthesizer field are briefly discussed.

From a communication point of view, frequency synthesizer is a system that generates a large number of frequencies (source of frequencies) derived from a single reference frequency.

Frequency synthesizer can replace the expensive array of crystal resonators in multichannel radio receivers.

The frequency synthesizer is shared between the receiver and transmitter paths in most of the transceiver architectures, which uses frequency synthesizer system.

There are three types of Frequency synthesizer and several ways of architectures, I choose the most commonly used and dominant method in the wireless communications industry in my practical circuit which is the indirect frequency synthesizer (phase looked loop frequency synthesizer).

This is fundamental part of radio, wireless, and telecommunication technology
