This study deals with the role of the think tanks in making the American foreign policy.

These centers that have become one of the most prominent features of the American political community and among the main determinants in the production of its foreign policy Think tanks has an important role in making and directing the American foreign policy through determining the priorities of the strategic issues which faces the us and gives the adequate strategic choices for the American role in the international affairs dependent on a range of methods that enable it to effect the making process of the foreign policy Think tanks have a prominent role in the issues related to the middle east that helped in the formation of us approach toward this region in the war and peace moments Iraq war 2003 was a clear example in the great influences that these centers had played in making the American foreign policy so, this research paper will focus on the prominent role of think tanks in the planning of the American war against Iraq and even the withdrawal from it.
