الملخص EN

The location of knock occurrence is an important issue when optimizing internal combustion engines.

A mathematical-physical model is proposed towards knock positing technique based on trilateration method.

It uses different knock sensors that surround motor structure and takes into account motor geometry and pressure wave propagation characteristics.

The exact detection of the time when the pressure wave reaches the knock sensor is assumed to be known.

Then evaluation results of the proposed model are presented using simulations and real measurements recorded by knock sensors.

Optimization approach to enhance the reported results is discussed.

Finally, important conclusions and future research work are presented.
