Which English language do we learn?

Learning a foreign language is not an easy task.

It cannot be obtained in a short time as claimed by many books which of say that learning language can be achieved within five days or so.

Harmer (1991: 31) states that “No one knows exactly how people learn languages although a great deal of research has been done into the subject”.

It is normally along journey which needs a lot of offer and time.

As this assumption is known to all learners of language but the puzzled question, Which English language to be learnt? Still needs an answer.

We can ask whether we should study American English or British English, Indian English, or Australian English, Nigerian English or Jamaican English, Northern British English and Southern British English.

The situation seems very complex and the learner is fluctuated among these facts and s/he may say that English is not one language but it is many languages.

Some experts in the field prove the same idea, Harmer (1991: 28), for example, says that “We cannot say that English is one language”.

For that reason, However, this paper will address the above raised question in order to come to an end if English is many languages or just one language with many varieties used all over the world.
