Working in companies that may deal with some Haram : taking salary for collecting donations for a mosque

السؤال

Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh, If a Muslim goes out to collect donations for the Masjid or for Muslims all over the world. He gets paid a salary for doing so is it Haram for him to take 20 % for himself. The reason im asking you this question is because we have a Masjid here in America when it collects donation for another Masjid or Kid that came from Palestine and needs surgery they take 20 % off the top is that right or is it wrong.
