Algeria is considered as one of the countries suffering from the Housing Crisis.

This is why the Algerian legislature tried to develop solutions to overcome this problem, through performing economic and legal reforms and measures to regulate the activity of credit institutions in the financing of property sector.

The State has also created several financial institutions mainly designed to help the citizen and credit institutions engaging in the property funding by reducing property loan risks.

The most important institution is the Mortgage Refinancing Company which guarantees refinancing banks in Algeria, in the framework of a broad government strategy aiming to animate the property investment via the financial market, making it an essential mechanism to handle the Housing Crisis, expanding the activity of company in order to stimulate the property market and raising the capacity of long-term funding for banks.
