الملخص EN

The purpose of this study was to examine the applicability of the New South Wales Quality Teaching Model (NSWQT Model) to the Jordanian primary school context.

The study was restricted to seven primary school teachers.

A qualitative approach of data gathering and analysis was used.

One key finding was that quality teaching was described in a similar way in both the Jordanian MOE’s documents and in documents describing the NSWQT model.

Furthermore, most elements of the NSWQT model were evident in the practice of teachers identified as being ‘quality teachers’.

Despite these findings the study found that there was an inconsistency between the stakeholders’ perceptions of what constituted quality teaching as articulated by MOE’s documents and the NSW model.
