الملخص الإنجليزي

The twentieth century American society was marked by alienation, a sense of estrangement and isolation .

People felt that the utopian spirit of the nineteenth century did not exist anymore , despite the social and material progress of that century.

They grew discontented, confused, and aimless because they suffered an unusual experience during the times of crises and wars.

The research aims at studying the sense of alienation which hangs over the sphere of an American family in Sam Shepard's Play ,Buried Child.
