الملخص EN
The insurance market in general and the insurance of persons market in particular has not yet managed to display satisfactory figures for the Algerian economy.
Despite the efforts made to promote it, the life and health insurance sector lags considerably, as the business volume of this branch represents only 7.92% (2015) of the overall volume of premiums and the density is only 2.5USD / inhabitant, against a global average of 345.7UDS / inhabitant.
The aim of this study is to identify the prospects and potential of the Algerian market.
To this end, we began by presenting the life and health insurance sector, its organization and structure, its global ranking, In order to arrive finally at the conclusion where we have given the main recommendations and suggestions for both the insurers and the public authorities in order to promote the latter.

Le marché des assurances en général et celui des assurances de personnes en particulier n’a pas encore réussi à afficher des chiffres satisfaisants pour l’économie algérienne.
Malgré les efforts déployés pour le promouvoir, le secteur des assurances de personnes affiche un retard considérable, en effet, le volume d’affaires de cette branche ne représente que 7.92% (en 2015) du volume global des primes et la densité ne représente que 2.5USD/habitant contre une moyenne mondiale de 345.7UDS/habitant.
L’objet de cette étude est de cerner les perspectives et le potentiel du marché algérien, pour cela nous avons commencé par présenter le secteur des assurances de personnes, son organisation et sa structure, son classement mondial, ensuite nous avons détecté les difficultés et les points faibles de ce dernier, pour arriver enfin, à la conclusion ou nous avons donné les principales recommandation et suggestions tant pour les assureurs que pour les autorités publiques afin de promouvoir ce dernier
