This paper is trying to deal, analyze and discuss intermediary diplomacy effectiveness limitations lead by Algeria during 1999- 2000 in solving the conflict between Ethiopia and Eretria during 1995- 2000.

This topic is of a great importance subsequent to the negative developments the case has known when Ethiopians refused to commit with the resolution already issued by the United Nations Commission for Settling borders in April, 2003.

Despite of the initial ok given by Ethiopia concerning the content of the resolution, the situation gone worse between the two countries, especially when Ethiopia raided against Eretria for getting the geographical regions under conflict in March15, 2012.

Dealing with the effectiveness of the Algerian role in resolving conflicts in cases having bad developments, especially in this period, is no doubt a good lesson to learn for Algeria in avoiding repeating the same scenario and committing the same mistakes in the initiative lead by Algeria in Mali since 2012 regarding the place Mali has got in maintaining construction equation of preserving the Algerian security with its different dimensions( political, economic, cultural), and levels( individual, societal and national).
