الملخص EN

The study explores the relationship between managerial networking, social intelligence and career outcomes (i.e.

rate of advancement and perceived career success) in a sample of top and middle level managers operating in the service sector.

Success in the service sector depends on developing and ma-inOtaining relationships with others who might be potential clients.

Also, service quality is determined by the quality of interaction between the service provider and customers.

This in turn demands strong interpersonal skills in order to succeed.

Results indicated that some types of networking behavior were related to objective as well as subjective career success.

Social intelligence was only related to subjective career success.

Some aspects of human capital and organization-related variables were also related to objective career success.

Explanations of the results as well as implications and directions for future research are discussed.
