The present study is an attempt to assess the importance of planning process at five star hotels, assess the capability of strategic thinking, and assess the process of making strategic decisions.

The fiiKlings confirmed that the importance of the planning process at hotels is divided into three parts; the uncertainty, role of planning and technology analysis.

The description of strategic decision making process was mainly based on objective criteria and analysis.

Hotel management has a fully formalized strategic planning system at the corporate and business level.
