الملخص EN

This research paper aims at discussing the situation of Algerian universities research laboratories specialising in economics, commerce and management studies and the problems from which they suffer.

The research paper then attempts to present recommendations to increase the performance of such laboratories based on the perspective of the research professors affiliated to the laboratories.

Humanities and social research laboratories including those specialising in economics and commerce and management studies receive financial support from public authorities through Algerian universities and enjoy a human capital represented in students and teachers in the field.

However, the study concludes that the activities of these laboratories have been limited to printing local magazines and journals, and organising seminars and forums ending in distributing participation certificates.

Instead of focusing on being a strategic partner to vital institutions in society, these research laboratories remain an academic model isolated from society with a productivity that hardly benefits their own personnel, in the light of the negligence of economic and social sectors to academic research and its role in boosting such sectors.

Therefore, thinking in research investment and signing cooperation treaties with the products of these laboratories such research or trained personnel remains absent.
