Religious tourism in An Najaf City is Considered to be of a great Importance from economic,social and cultural aspects for two reasons.Firstly,it represents a holy place among Muslims in Iraq and the world and secondly,it has a historical and Islamic depth.

This study sheds light on the fundamentals of tourism in An Najaf City,starting with highlighting the status of religious shrines,mainly Imam Ali(peace be upon Him)Holy Shrine and the other religious shrines and institutions.

This paper also has stressed the study of Infrastructure which contributes to the development of tourism in this city.The city provides all services the tourist needs,such as,residency,restaurants,transportation, Historical sites,markets and etc.

The current study has presented a number of recommendations that would develop tourism in this city.One of which is to improve the infrastructure of the religious institutions and spread education of the importance of religious tourism among locals to attract the attention of the tourists.So,this will revives the economy of the city.
