الملخص الإنجليزي

To advance our current understanding of Entrepreneurship Motivation (EM) and its influence on Entrepreneurial Intention (EI), existing relevant literature regarding such topics has been reviewed.

This revision revealed the need for more examination of EM as multidimensional construct and identification of its most significant indicators.

As such, the current research developed a model which included EM as a higher order construct that consists of twelve first order indicators (need for achievement, need for autonomy, need for affiliation, need for power, subjective norms, attitude toward becoming entrepreneur, perceived behavioral control, governance motive, financial motive, economic motive, creativity and risk taking) and considered EM as an independent variable for the dependent variable EI.

The current research methodology employed a quantitative approach, in which data were administrated and gathered via an online and face-to-face survey with entrepreneurs in Jordan; 221 surveys were collected, the data were later tested using a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via AMOS program.

The findings of this research showed that need for achievement, need for autonomy, need for affiliation, need for power, subjective norms, attitude toward becoming entrepreneur, PBC, financial motive, creativity, and risk taking are considered as indicators for EM, whereas, governance motive and economic motive are not considered as indicators for EM in the Jordanian context.

Furthermore, the researcher found that EM is a highly significant influencer of EI.

The developed model can be applied in other countries, in addition to that, the model of this research can be applied for students in universities as an educational material, or a mandatory course, as well as training courses regarding EM indicators can be conducted.
