The second text by the Irish author Patrick Masterson is a chapter from his book Atheism and Alienation entitled “Kant and the Finite Absolute” which gives us a glimpse into one of the most important metaphysical theories upon which Kant based his philosophical system, namely the trilogy of reason, spirit, and God as a whole which manifests things in themselves.

His stance on the status of reason and spirit is very complicated and requires more detailed research than just a few pages.

Thus, the author limits himself to a general presentation of Kant’s view on metaphysics, and clarifies the ambiguities connected to the aforementioned trilogy.
