The American – British relationships had witnessed acute competition over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , British had relationships with the family of Al Suad since the second half of the 19th century .

British had realized from an early time the importance of the emerging force and the possibility of benefiting from it in the future .

Indeed , these relationships evolved and resulted in two treaties is 1915 and 1927 with Al Suad .

While getting the concession for oil exploration in the Saudi land by American Companies in 1933 to a British apprehension from transforming the Saudi attitude towards the States.

This competition increased in 1943 when the United States included Saudi Arabia Kingdom in the lend and lease act , which provided large assistance to the Saudi Arabia Kingdom and that , enforced the relationship between them .

This also pushed British to watch the situation closely through its diplomatic mission .

The year 1944 recorded the highest levels of British – American Competition in regard of oil interests .

The British side felt an obvious preference in the Saudi side toward the States , so it tried to enforce its relationships with the kingdom through getting one of its companies that specializes in wire and wireless communication the advantage in Saudi Arabia Kingdom , and succeeded .

The American side also tried to gain a similar advantage but with offers alluring the Saudi side .

All of that pushed the British side to lower the costs of the cables sent from the kingdom to the outside , in order to keep its advantage
