الملخص EN

The aim of the study is to identify the teaching competencies of the university lecturer at Mogadishu University and construct a conceptual vision to raise the performance of the teachers based on the overall quality standards.

The study used analytical descriptive method with sample of 81 faculty members was applied in the university.

The statistical analysis program (spss) was used for data analysis.

The most important results of the study that the University Management gives priority to enhance capacity level of lecturers and with a high average of (4.41), as well as freedom to follow according to the teaching method considered suitable for students, with a high average of (4.49).

The results of the study has also shown that there is no statistically significant differences between the estimates of the sample of the study on the development of the teaching competencies of the university lecturer according to the requirements of total quality due to the variables (qualification and years of experience) while there is statistically significant differences between the estimates of the sample of the study on the development of the teaching competencies of the university lecturer according to the requirements of the overall quality due to the qualification variable.

The researcher recommended that it should be given more attention to continuous development of the process of education, and the work of periodical, bi-annual or annual training for the lecturers on the standards of the quality education to raise their professional career.
