In the international political institutions, the term "Islamophobia" has become popular, especially after the political events, which have been plagued by a number of attacks by Islamic groups on civilian targets in different regions of the world.

This study dealt with Islamophobia in Occidental political thought, Islamism has a great impact on the deepening of the idea of Islam Phobia as well as the contributions of contemporary European thought to stereotype the image of Islam according to the heritage of the Church and the Orientalist.

The study tackled the notion of Islam as a phobia.

The study also tackled the intellectual roots of Islam and phobia.

This idea is linked to the roots of political Islam.

Theorists relied on the connection between these two ideas in the development of Islamic political thought and the accompanying escalation of Islamophobia
