Civilisation displays its brightness through its symbolism.

It demands that the individual submit to that organized fascination so that he can reach the status of individual.

Such calling upon and submission to symbols is done through a discourse that supports the values of that civilisation ; those are the common beliefs of alienation seen as the repetition of a same scheme of relationships of dependance and freedom, which gives the illusion of reality and liberty while the norms are established by civilisation for itself and by itself, commanding the subject to let himself caught in that « discourse of the other ».

That accepted submission determines our way of living, our relationship to work, to leisure time, to feelings, and even our relationship to language which ceases to be a free production only to become a mere instrumental production in the service of the values promoted by that civilisation.

It is in this perspective that Khatibi's scriptural strategy will be questioned.
