This study was set out to investigate speaking anxiety strategies used by Libyan EFL university students at Benghazi university- faculty of arts and science - a1-Kufra.

the researcher used the analytical descriptive method to analyze the collected data.

the following statistical methods were used in the study: mathematical calculations and percentages.

the research problem illustrates that, during study at the university; the students were asked to communicate with each other using English language.

this situation creates anxiety among them.
