This study is exploring the values of citizenship in the UAE press.

It does so by analysing the content of articles written by opinion writers in al Etihad daily.

The study tries to identify the role of the press in dealing with a vital and important subject pertaining to the values of citizenship and its influence on community peace and security.

It is the first analytical study for these values in an Emirati daily throughout exploring the opinion writers.

The study is based on previous studies by which the researcher could know how to exploit the information and ideas these studies contain which has enriched our study.

The study includes the bases of research methodologies, and it involved conducting the content analysis according to a certain form designed especially for this purpose.

The study recommends that it is necessary from the side of the mass media and educational and religious institutions to pay special attention to the values of citizenship as these values are considered as a safety valve for the community security
