Strength or weakness of the mental degree among them and among the different institutions and also on the extent of their concern about these institutions, or depends on the effect of their activities.

and it could be possible to be acquainted on this image and measuring the variable which mostly be slow and it is usual to be difficult for the person to form an image concerning things far away are mostly weak and liable to be changed.

the importance of this research comes out through aquatinting on the essences of the mental image which is made by the secondary school students toward al-Mustansiriya university and being acquainted on means of improving and consolidating the mental image for the students toward the university.

the study as well participates in acquainting on means of communication which are used by public relation unite in the university in order to reach to this public on which the questionnaire of the mental image about the university was done.

in this study, the researchers used systematic survey which are: 1) the theoretical part which includes the nature of the mental image and means of it's improvement and also al-Mustansiriya university establishment as well as the public concept and 2) the practical part which includes the analysis of the questionnaire results used by the researchers for the research purpose.

and number of results were reached among which are the importance of contact with the external public of the university and accordingly, the researchers present number of recommendations.
