The Algerian intelligentsia during the first decades of the twentieth century was the product of pure French culture (which later represented the liberal trend of demands).

In addition to this, there is a cultured and saturated cult of Arab-Islami culture or bilingualism represented in the elements and frameworks of awareness led by the Renaissance movement in Algeria since the end of the last century to the centenary colonial celebration of the occupation of Algeria and the 1930s, on the cultural and political level.

The existence of this second category of intellectuals, within that renaissance, had decisive results, namely, the creation of a balance in the political forces within the Algerian national movement, and even turned the balance in their favor, especially after the success and establishment of the Association of Algerian Muslim Scholars with the cells of the North African Star and the Algerian People's Party Nationalities and aspects of the homeland
