Corpus callosum lipoma is a rare congenital brain malformation.
It is due to abnormal differentiation of persistent primitive meninx (mesenchymal origin), followed by transformation into mature adipose cells.
This lesion is often asymptomatic but there are many possible clinical presentations such as epilepsy, hemiplegia, dementia or headaches.
Computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging makes the diagnosis of lipoma.
We report the case of a 51-year- old woman who present seizures at the age of 37 years revealing a lipoma of the corpus callosum.
الملخص FRE
Le lipome du corps calleux est une malformation congénitale très rare, qui peut être associée à des degrés divers de dysgénésie du corps calleux.
Il est souvent asymptomatique, mais peut se présenter par une épilepsie, une hémiplégie, une démence ou de simples céphalées.
La tomodensitométrie et l'imagerie par résonance magnétique permettent facilement le diagnostic.
Nous rapportons le cas d’une femme de 51 ans, qui est suivie depuis l’âge de 37 ans pour un lipome du corps calleux révélé par des crises épileptiques.
