Beneficiaries' disinclination towards Iraqi university libraries

This research aims at getting acquainted with the causes behind decreasing the number of beneficiaries frequenting Iraqi University Libraries through setting a rated all-psychological characteristic criterion.

To achieve this aim, the researchist chose a proportionate class sample of undergraduate and postgraduate students and teachers at the Mustanssiriyya University; they were all 150 persons.

The researchist pursued a case-study programme using questionnaire as a means to obtain data.

This resulted into: Universities are considered as one of most important scientific progress indices and civilizational advancement of all societies.

Therefore, those universities and through the message they have, appealed to widen the research scope and enhance study curricula through enriching and supporting those curricula with what back them as a means to serve the anticipated scientific research goals.

Hence, all libraries appealed to establish university libraries annexed or independent therefrom; they look like supporting school curricula in those universities, inspite of these library importance & their active role; but the current university libraries reality does not indicate their magnificent importance and their role in embracing the knowledge and science students and the researchers all together.
