Lactobacillus acidophilus is the primary friendly bacteria found in the intestinal tract and vagina.

They help to protect the body from an invasion of candida and other germs that invade and live in the body.

The present study had investigated the effect of L.

acidophilus on some hematological and biochemical parameters.

Fish served as non treated control or were exposed centrations of2 g and 4 g / kg diet for 45 days.

Blood samples were collected for estimation of total leucocyte count and leucocytic differential counts and liver enzymes.

The biochemical alterations for AST and ALT, as compared to the control group indicated improvement in liver enzymes by increasingtheir levels in serum.

The hematological alterations for total leucocyte and leucocytic differential counts indicated stimulation of immune response by increasing WBCs level in blood.

So it can be concluded that Lactobacillus acidophilus exerts beneficial effects on hematological and biochemical parameters of exposed fish.
