This study have an object to analyze and measure the most important determinants of spending on tertiary education in Algeria During the period 1980-2011.

The results found a causal correlation between inflation and spending on higher education.

The rest of the determinants were of an acceptable statistical value but their relationship is not clear with spending on tertiary education.

The reason is that a real sector strategy has not been developed through the allocated budget, with a quantitative graduation that does not take into account the most important requirements of the labour market in Algeria.
