The aim of the research is to identify the obstacles of scientific research in the faculties of education from the point of view of the teaching staff at the University of Salahaddin / Erbil.

The study sample reached 141 teachers The questionnaire consist of 30 scientific obstacles items was used to collect the study data through a random sample of (70) members of the teaching staff at the basic education college.

The results of the study 1 - The obstacles of management and the university environment come at the top of the priorities faced by the university scientific researcher, and then economic obstacles and then the physical obstacles.

2- There are statistically significant differences in the average of the obstacles of scientific research according to gender, scientific qualification, specialization (human sciences, applied sciences) in favor of females and holders of doctorate and specialty (applied sciences).

Based on the study results, a number of recommendations were made.
