The volume is a wonderful collection of stories purportedly told by a diverse company of English men and women on pilgrimage to the shrine of St.

Chaucer died in 1400 to leave it unfinished.

The book includes a prologue and 24 tales of varying length.

The tale which is about to be discussed here, the Miller's Tale, is the second tale of the book.1 It will be tackled generically as a Fabliau.
