Plagiarism in the higher education sector is considered as one of the most sensitive issues that affect the quality of education in each country, and undermine the credibility of its research because they are related to the ethics of the profession and the academic integrity.

In view of the continuous development in the modern electronic means and the techniques of communication, the following question can be asked: What is the role of modern electronic means in protecting scientific research from plagiarism? This research aims to answer this question by stating the requirements of the academic integrity, the most important manifestations of plagiarism and highlighting the role of modern electronic means in reducing this phenomenon.

It is all about to the electronic programs, websites, forums, dialogue forums, and social networks such as Facebook and Twitter…etc.

In this study, we used the descriptive, with a mixed use of the analytical approach, in addition to the inductive approach.
