الملخص EN

ABSTRACT A field survey was conducted in order to investigate the disease of fig tree degradation and diagnosing its causes in the orchards of Al-Kifl, Babylon province for the growing season 2016.

The field survey revealed that 607 from 9,181 fig trees distributed in five areas of fig orchards (Bani Muslim, Al-Dawlah, Al-Husayniyah, Al-Nuaimiya, and Al-Muradiya) were infected with root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) and 6.6% of them showed symptoms of deterioration, which was the highest percentage in the Bani Muslim region, with an average amounted to (20.14%) from the total of 3006 trees.

The results of the diagnosis of fungi isolated from the roots and crown areas for the diseased trees showed the presence of several pathogenic fungi in varying proportions and Fusarium solani fungus was the most appearance (63%) and frequencies (21%), which was the only fungus in the crown area for the degraded trees.
