This study aims at investigating the polemical issue of the existence of a variety of scientific terminology in different Arab countries, which coincided with the considerable advance in modern sciences in the western world, which had a major influence in academic arena in Arab countries.

This led to a lack of consensus over the adoption of those terms.

The widespread of a variety of scientific terms perplexed scholars and pushed each scholar to adopt certain terms and ignore others, which resulted in a chaotic situation in academic institutions in Arab countries.

The research questions that are put forward are as follows: What are the causes of the existence of a variety of scientific terms that refer to the same adopted entity in Arab countries? In what way could scholars and linguists solve this problem? And what are the appropriate solutions that could put an end to and overcome the chaotic situation of the existence of a variety of terminology that refer to the same entity in Arab academic institutions?
