Effect of fumigation toxicity of clove and anise oils against astigmatid mite Rhizoglyphus robini (Astigmata : Acaridae)‎ under laboratory conditions

The toxic effect of alternative of two different plant oils (clove and anise) against movable stages of the grain mite, Rhizoglyphus robini ( Claparede ) was determined using dry yeast as food source (under room temperature) with using fumigation method.

Data proved that clove and anise oils exhibited an obviously degree of efficacy against R.robini after one week of mite exposure.

The highest level mortality percentages of R.robini population were abtamed with clove extract when the concentration were 1.0 and 2.0 after 7th days of exposure which gave 82.4 and 98.6 % mortality, respectively.

On the other hand, the highest level of mortality percentages of R.robini population were noticed for anise extract when the contrition was 2.0 after 5th and 7th days of exposure which gave 86.3 and 95.0 % of mortality, respectively.

From the obtained results, and statistical a ralysis , there were highly significant differences between the resulted mortality in the population of R.

robini and the different concentrations of clove and anise extracts and also, between the time of treatment exposure.
