Effect of social stories on a preschool child with autism action research

Children living with autism have a deficient in communication and social interaction requiring special methods to learn and acquire new skills and appropriate behavior.

Using a social story intervention in a child in a preschool, this action research seeks to assess the usefulness of the intervention in improving communication and reducing inappropriate behavior.

The study found that with stories repeatedly shared with a child with autism, they can improve their communication and several behavioral actions such as sharing toys and eating food at the appropriate time.

The findings are useful in pedagogical improvement targeting learners with special needs.
