Operational risks are among the most important risks facing banks in our time.

They are second only to the Basel II credit risk when they were introduced at the beginning of 2007 as part of capital adequacy requirements.

They identified ways to cover these risks, However, one year after the implementation of Basel II (2008) standards, the global financial crisis, in which operational risk was one of the main causes, caused the Basel II Committee to be amended by proposing new criteria: Basel III, where the final application will begin in 2019 without introducing or proposing an amendment to the methods of coverage of operational risks and even the weighting required to cover them.
