It is interesting to find that in the ancient Iraqi law, which was legislated legal articles at the base level to regulate the lives of members of the community which indicated the interest in animal protection and preservation as important pillar of pillars of the Iraqi economy of ancient and recent and because the most animals mentioned in the ancient Iraqi laws are those that have been used especially in the agricultural , commercial and transport , and in the forefront (bulls), while at the same time the most harmful work will be the focus on this type of animals , as well as livestock from sheep , cattle , goats and others of animals of which it occupies an important source of livelihood and food at the ancient Iraqis .

Not only did the law protect those animals from the physical damage due to the nature of their work, but also they included cases of the theft , forgery , foreclosure , and deliberate negligence that could damage the animal and adversely affect the movement of work and production and harm the public and private property limit both .

Moreover, the Hammurabi act has also laid down legal provisions for treating animals and protecting them against disease and epidemics that may be exposed to them.
