Satellite channels occupied a great importance among media in providing the public with news on the issues and events that are in the spotlight, which make satellite channels as a platform for covering and delivering news in specific frameworks via investing communication technology and direct broadcasting, especially the subject of the study covering the news and issues of the Iraqi government.

Iraqi channels were keen on delivering the news via covering the political and ideological determinants those policymakers in media organizations believed that they can make or form specific trends in the public attitudes on covering government news.

The study was founded in the light of a research problem, which was based on a major question: "What are the limits and nature of the coverage of Iraqi government affairs in Iraqi satellite channels?" The objectives of the study were to identify the most important topics that covered the Iraqi satellite channels within the context of the news of the government, reviewed the mechanisms of news coverage adopted by Iraqi satellite channels in their coverage of the government news and revealed the trends of news coverage of government affairs in the satellite channels to meet the researcher’s goals, which can be used for future studies.
