Abstract: The study aims at addressing the concept of extremism and climate variability in general and extreme and rain fluctuation especially in eastern Maysan province according to climatic data including total rainfall in four Iraqi stations (Al-Hayy, Amarah, Ali Al Gharbi, Basra) and two Iranian stations (Dahlan, Bustan) For the period 1985-2015.

The study was based on statistical methods including standard deviation, standard distance and fluctuation rate according to the data of the stations studied in the region for comparison, accurate results, frequency of models, extreme variability and rainfall in the region.

Tables, maps and charts were used to facilitate comparison and draw conclusions.

The study was based on the standard deviation to determine the frequency of a range of climate models, namely the moderate model (+1, -1), standard deviation of the average, the semi-wet model (oscillation) (+2) Semi-dry (oscillation) (-2) standard deviation from the average, and extreme dry model (-3) standard deviation from the average.
