The narrative text is not only composed of texts and is not separate from what surrounds it from the surrounding texts that give it its value and increase its clarity and splendor for the recipients.

Each literary text is an enclosed entity that needs to be explored and revealed.

First, the paratexts enable the reader to probe into the text.

They give the reader a preliminary idea and an opportunity to understand the text.

They are the first contact or meeting between the author and the reader.

The paratext thresholds are of great importance in understanding the text from all sides.

Titles are the first and most important of the elements that allow the reader to explore text.

The focus of this study is to examine the associations of the paratexts, their aesthetic structure and their function in Nasser Iraq's Al-Balat Al-Aswad (Black Tiles).

The study asks questions like, where are the black tiles? How did they become black? When will they become black? Why did they become black? And who made them black? The internal elements are also of great importance because they have the ability to be consistent with the content of the text.

If the main title of the novel is addressed to the public in general, the internal titles are limited to the readers of the novel.

The internal titles of the novel are divided into two groups, the structure of the novel (in six chapters) and the paratexts.
