In this research paper, we will treat the subject of handicrafts in Algeria and their importance in local development and balance among regions .

Besides, we will also present the definition of the this sector, as well as their characteristics, in addition to offering the strategy for its development in our country.

This happens when we talk about its content and the procedures we should take in order to achieve the desirable development as well as the expected results of its implementation.

In addition to presenting the final outcome of the reform programs and the accomplished projects within the frame of this strategy.

In this research, we also try to highlight the active role of the handicrafts in achieving local development and stabilizing the population and regional balance among the different parts of the country, we eventually shed light on the last part on the fundamental difficulties that impede the activities of the craft contractors and limit their progression and prosperity
