Several indigenousspecies belonging to different zoologicalgroups, mostly arthropods, are injunous t~ cltrus-groves.~Italy.In addition,the introductionof exoticspecies,insectsand mites,has frequentlyoccurredin the last thirty yearschangmgthe co~poslt~onofthe natural1 pre-existingcitrus pests fauna.

Investigationscarried outbypubblicscientificins~ituti~ns, followedby ~emonstrationtnals, have showedthe efficacyboth of the supervised and of integratedmanagementmeasures.Somebiclogical controlpracticeshavealsorevealedan economicvalidityagainstnumerouskey insectsattackingcitrus-groves.
