Effect of some antibacterial drugs on isolated bacterial species causing mastitis of ewes

A total 1800 milk sample which collected from 300 and 600 govern-ment and private ewe farm respectively and examined by rapid field mastitutic tests (White side and Hotis tests) which cleared that the percentage of mastitic ewes was 13.33% (White side test) and 11.11% (Hotis test).

Also, total of 200 milk samples collected from 100 mastitic ewes were examined bacteriologically to investigate the incidence of Staph.

aureus (45%), E.

coli (25%) streptococcus agalactia (25%), Strept.

dysagalactia (25%) and Stepto.

equi (20%).

This study illustrated that most of isolated species microorganisms were resist to penicillin and some of them were sensitive to gentamycin, kanamycin, streptomycin and oxytetracycline and all these species were sensitive to Enerofloxacine drug.
