Transporting the deceased by the wheeled cart in the Greco-Roman tombs

This paper discusses the process of transporting the mummy of the deceased to his tomb in the Graeco- Roman period, through only the scenes which are depicted in the tombs of the Graeco- Roman period in Egypt.

It investigates the arrangements and activities of this first important step for the transfiguration of the deceased in the hereafter.

The wheeled cart is the main transportation mean of the mummy in the Graeco- Roman tombs, therefore, the paper studies and analyzes also the depictions of the transportation scenes in the tombs, and the model of the transporting cart.
