Abstract EN

This study aims to know the relationship between psychological needs and academic compatibility among students of the first year of secondary education at both the martyr Ahmed Madgari and the martyr Ali Tounsi secondary schools.

It also aims to find out whether there are differences between male and female in both variables (psychological needs and academic compatibility) - In this study, the researchers relied on the psychological needs scale prepared by Desi and Rayan (2000), Arabization and legalization of Muhammad Alyan (2005).

They also used the academic compatibility scale that was writen by ( MB Yongman ) in 1979, then it was adapted to the Arab environment by Hussein Abdulaziz Al-Derini in 1985 in Qatar.

The study resulted a relationship between the two variables among the individuals of the sample, that is, the academic compatibility is low if the psychological needs are not saturated.

The study also found that there are no differences between the sexes ( males and females ) in psychological needs, while it demonstrated that there are statistically significant differences in academic ompatibility in favor of females
