This article deals with the analytical study of the annotated reading texts belonging to the field of fahm al-maktob, this field that was developed in light of the educational reforms that affected educational curricula in Algeria - the second generation curricula – The texts of the Arabic language book for the second year average were selected as a sample for study by analyzing the topics covered by these texts and their type, as well as the total knowledge and values they provide, the source from which they were drawn, and their suitability for students of the stage.
