Abstract EN

The Encyclopaedia of The Qura’n criticized the Qur'an and the Islamic tradition, which revolves around the verses of women's ornament and dress; Its suspicions were that the Qur'an was unequal between women and men in detailing the decency speech, accusing the commentators of not determining what a woman should cover from her body for centuries, and attributing the reason for the intervention of many factors to determine the modesty of women to the ambiguity of the Quranic text concerning the veil of women.

The research discussed the views of the encyclopaedia and identified the methods used to reach these views, then refuted them.

The research referred the reasons for these errors to the lack of sufficient knowledge of the Arabic language and methods, lack of specialization in Islamic law, insufficient access to tradition books, in addition to the religion of the author of the article women and the Qura’n
